Rev. Jorge Ochoa Lonji

It is an exciting time for all of us as we welcome Rev. Jorge Ochoa to Dell, La Farge and Faith United Methodist churches.

Rev. Jorge was born in Mexico 50 years ago and is married to Erika Martinez- Flores.  She will also be starting her new appointment as pastor at Westby UMC and Viroqua UMC in July.  They have no children, but have a dog, Winky and a cat, Rosita.

He is very excited about being here, thinks this is a beautiful area and is looking forward to meeting everyone and being involved with the communities. Both of their families live in Mexico.

Rev. Jorge was an ordained elder for the Methodist church in Mexico for many years. He began his pastoral work in the United States in 2013, first in North Carolina and since 2016 has been serving in Wisconsin.  He comes to us from New Horizon UMC in Orfordville, Wisconsin.

Rev. Jorge studied for his Master in Theology at Duke University of Divinity in North Carolina and is currently in his second year studying for his Doctor in Ministry at Garrett Theological Seminary in Chicago.  He has written several Biblical lessons and has several works published both in Spanish and English. He had a radio program transmitted by The Wisconsin Public Radio of Sheboygan in 2016-2017 when he was a Hispanic Church Founder in for the Wesley UMC.

On the personal side, he loves going to movies with a large popcorn, reading good books and watching sports (mainly soccer).  He loves animals and pet friendly churches!

Rev. Jorge states that it is a great blessing for him to be the pastor of the churches of Dell-La Farge –Faith, three churches in a one charge appointment.
